With an expansive menu of over-the-top bar and soul food, the Haunted House Restaurant delivers a cinematic throwback horror experience in the former Melt space. Guests are encouraged (but not required) to dress in cocktail attire, or perhaps even themed time-period costumes! Basic PPE safety masks are allowed, but please refrain from using full face decorative masks, extensive make-up that hides your features. Props, handheld props, or weapons are not allowed at the event. We don’t recommend partaking in the tasting experience if you have serious allergic reactions. Here, you could be touched by an unseen spirit—including one that may riffle your hair or crawl into bed with you —or hear a creepy disembodied voice talking. There are also possibly haunted tunnels under the hotel and a pet cemetery with the spirit of a golden retriever, which we can all agree is the most adorable-sounding ghost. Walking into this nautical-themed dive bar in Ktown feels like stepping onto a fishing barge that got lost at sea in the ’40s and has been floating around ever since. There are musty leather booths, “Careless Whisper” quietly playing over the intercom, and scattered tables filled with solo diners eating steak and sipping well tequila from a shot glass.
